TXT has made technological research one of its strategic choice, giving strong emphasis on technological excellence.

The TXT approach to research consists in identifying new technologies and performing critical evaluations on market trends and customer requirements, and in succeeding in transforming a pilot application into a market product. The emphasis is not only on the technology, but on the applications enabled by that technology as well.

It is fundamental to include enabled applications and not only enabling technologies.

The steps used in research development are the followings:

• understanding technologies and their potential, cooperating with universities and research centers;
• constructing prototypes and pilot applications, collaborating with companies, research partners and application future users;
• transforming the pilot application into a project, engineering and packaging;

To implement research projects, TXT makes use of national and international research programs and in particular those financed by EU funds.
