Polymedia TiBox Browser

The Polymedia TiBox Browser is an MHP application for Digital Terrestrial Television, implementing an HTML-like browser, supporting a subset of XHTML 1.0 and CSS2.

Simplification of MHP application development.

The development of MHP applications is made possible to all those acquainted with the XHTML language, the mark-up language used for the development of Web pages. An in-depth knowledge of MHP standards is no longer necessary for creating interactive television applications.

Furthermore, the availability of an emulator for PCs allows for immediate testing of every new application, making the availability of an entire MHP transmission chain no more necessary in the testing phase. The Polymedia TiBox Browser has already been tested on all the main set-top-boxes available on the market and therefore each new application does not need testing on all the existing set-top-boxes.

Polymedia TiBox Browser is integrated with TXT Polymedia Video, the TXT Polymedia content & media asset management product, thus permitting the editorial team to preview editorial content before it is actually broadcasted.

Low transmission bandwidth use

Should a broadcaster distribute more than one browser-based application, the Java classes that constitute the browser itself can be distributed only once and then shared among many MHP applications; therefore, it is possible to save a remarkable bandwidth thanks to the browser code being shared among various applications.
