Media in a Box offers a complete environment for the management of any type of multi-media asset (i.e. video, images, photo-gallery, and audio files) and for the management of the media access right policies. The Media and Content Management components includes specialized tools for media ingestion, metadata editing, media editing, media categorization and media preview for different devices - i.e. web, mobile, TVs, IPTV, Kiosk. Media hierarchies can be easily created inheriting father’s metadata.

Predefined Metadata

A set of predefined metadata are available for each type of media asset and some technical metadata are automatically extracted during the media ingestion, while other enriching metadata can be easily edited using the interface.

Content Rights Management

The predefined metadata set also includes everything you need to manage your digital rights, such as validity period, geography, media channel (i.e. press, web, mobile …). Rights can be imported from Content Rights Planning tools and updated by the editorial team.

Specialized Editing Tools

The platform natively includes specialized editing tools for each type of content: an XHTML editor is available for text editing and formatting, an image editor is available for resizing and crop activities, a basic video cutting tool is available, but for professional video editing the following third party products are integrated: Sony Vegas and Apple Final Cut.

Video Playlist Management

A Graphical Console allows, as in a broadcasting environment, to organize video into playlists, by drag-and-drop from your video archive.

Video Tagging

The Media and Content components also include video tagging functions, that allow to add time-based markers to the video for chaptering or for synchronizing the execution of external actions like slides shows, for showing graphical objects in overlay and opening an URL link when the user clicks on it.

Editorial Workflows

Predefined editorial workflows are available to guarantee a correct protection of data and the security required about the published contents.

Media Upload

Media ingestion can be done either by form upload in case of small assets or by batch processes in case of huge media assets. The creation of automation processes for acquisition, encoding, ingestion of videos is done through a visual interface.

Media Formats

The supported input and output video formats are: Mpeg1/2, WMV/VC-1, FLV, 3GP, H.264/AAC. Others video formats can be added on customer demand.

Media Process Automation

Process workflows can be created and automated in complex automation chains to be scheduled on event, on time basis or manually.

Delivery Channels and Metadata Customization

Whenever you need to extend your video delivery with additional devices or you need to extend the predefined set of media metadata, the platform provides specialized visual editors.
