The Media and Content Publishing core component is the enhanced video player, namely Polymedia Show. It offers unique features to allow user interaction functions during video playback. Polymedia Show enables a rapid video player creation by selecting among a set of predefined templates implementing specific business formats (i.e. Movies, TV Series, broadcaster, Institutional/corporate, video-driven e-commerce …).
 

Player Creation and Configuration
 

Configurability of the player to generate several different players versions and options is available at different levels, to reach the maximum flexibility, usability and time-to-market. Many available options allows, through a Graphical User Interface, to obtain different configurations of the player in terms of functionalities and look&feel.

Player Embedding and Linking

The player can be embedded into a web site by a Generate Code button and a paste action. Analogously, a link to the video can be generated and used. Linking and embedding are possible within an existing web site, a blog or a social network (MSN, Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Flicker, Linkedin, …).

Player Technical Features

The enhanced video player manages both video on demand (VOD) and live streaming and it supports progressive download and adaptive smooth streaming. The player has been built on top of Microsoft SilverLight and Internet Information Services (IIS) to provide a compelling user experience. It is compatible with Windows PC and Mac.

Out-of-the-box Viral Sharing

The enhanced video player can be configured in such a way to activate out-of-the-box viral sharing features like send-to-a-friend, code embed for web sites and blogs, share a video with my Facebook friends and my Ms Live Messenger friends or within other social networks.
