The rapid proliferation of hybrid and electric aircraft projects is propelling us into the third aviation revolution, with new players and new mobility concepts. With unprecedented degrees of freedom, aircraft designers need the efficiency and expediency of digital design tools to cast a wider net in the design space, to assess new technologies more quickly and to integrate systems more effectively.
Our annual conference and user group meeting PACEdays continues to explore preliminary aircraft and systems architecture design in all its aspects with the support of a diverse team of experts:
- David Debney (ATI) opens the discussion with an overview of technology and sustainability and their significance for the aviation sector.
- Aleksandar Joksimović (ISAE-SUPAERO) presents an update on his research on the integration of propulsive systems in civil aircraft using our preliminary aircraft design software Pacelab APD.
- Naomi Allen and Reece Williams (ATI) provide complementing perspectives on the design and validation capabilities needed for future large commercial aircraft development and systems integration and the potential of Pacelab software tools.
- Christopher Jouannet and Kristian Amadori (Saab) report their experience of introducing Pacelab software at Saab Aircraft Concept Design and their vision for a future integrated design environment.
The Preliminary Design track also provides a chance to catch up with our latest innovations for cloud-based and collaborative design space exploration, learn about our product roadmaps and get to know key PACE staff and our spirited user community.
